Panel Debate

Power & Profit? Private Equity in the Green Energy Transition

On April 10th, we hosted in collaboration with CBS Investment Club, a panel debate exploring the role of private equity in accelerating the green energy transition.

Bringing industry perspectives to CBS

We were proud to welcome speakers from:

  • Copenhagen Infrastructure Partners

  • Impact Fund Denmark (formerly IFU)

  • A.P. Moller Capital

Representatives from these organisations shared insights into how private capital can contribute to renewable energy development while navigating financial risk, regulatory complexity, and long-term sustainability goals.

The debate was moderated by André Thormann, who guided the discussion across key themes such as:

  • The balance between profit and purpose

  • Investment strategies in renewable infrastructure

  • The role of institutional capital in achieving climate targets

  • Opportunities and challenges in emerging and developed markets

Dialogue, reflection, and networking

The panel discussion was followed by a Q&A session, where students had the opportunity to engage directly with the speakers and deepen the conversation.

The evening concluded with networking, dinner, and informal discussions between students, professionals, and industry representatives. Participants also had the opportunity to connect with Copenhagen School of Energy Infrastructure and learn more about academic and professional opportunities within the energy infrastructure field.

We would like to extend our sincere thanks to our sponsors who helped make this panel debate possible.

A special thank you to Copenhagen School of Energy Infrastructure (CSEI), Raw Culture, True Gum, Myprotein, Collab, and Karamelkompagniet for their generous support and contributions to the evening.
